Electric trains that get energy from an overhead line system by using a pantograph, which presses against the underside of the overhead line's contact wire. To achieve good high-speed current collection, it is necessary to keep the contact wire geometry within defined limits. This is possible by supporting the contact wire from above by a second wire known as the messenger wire. The catenary (contact + messenger wires) must be installed with a controlled mechanical tension and Tesmec machines are suitable to carry out this operation by stringing up to 4 wires at the same time.
