We are proud to announce excellent news for the Railway Division of Tesmec Group.
The construction of the new production plant in Monopoli (Bari) is officially started.
This project, which requires the recruitment of 30 employees, is expected to be ready by July 2018.
This innovative facility, with an overall covered surface of 4.500 m2, will be dedicated to engineering, prototyping and manufacturing several special railway vehicles: railway wagons for the catenary installation and maintenance, multipurpose units, shunting locomotives and power units for passenger trains.
The whole manufacturing cycle will observe the highest Standards in terms of energy saving and environmental protection. Top-level efficiency, automation and high-tech production process are the key for a significant production capacity increase.
The estimated investment for the new facility will be approximately 8 million euro; moreover, also R&D and prototyping investments in the railway industry are expected. Both the investments are supported through contributions from the Program Agreements of Regione Puglia.
Furthermore, Tesmec Groups, through the subsidiary Tesmec Service, signed with RFI - Rete Ferroviaria Italiana S.p.A - a supplementary order of 7,2 million euro for additional supplies related to unexpected new Standards as part of the awarded public tender last December 2016, for the supply of 88 multipurpose railway vehicles for the maintenance of the Italian railway network.
Last December 21st, during an official ceremony at Officina Nazionale Mezzi D’Opera (ONMO) in Catanzaro Lido, the first two prototypes model OCPC600, multipurpose railway vehicles with 2 axles, were delivered to RFI.
This confirms the great designing capability of Tesmec Group, which today actively operates also in Italy, after significant experiences already gained in USA, Norway and in China.
