Tesmec and Politecnico Di Bari: strategic agreement strengthening the collaboration between research and industry in railway infrastructure innovation

Tesmec and the University Politecnico di Bari have signed a three-year agreement, marking a new phase of joint development in the field of railway innovation. The agreement stems from a shared commitment to strengthening the dialogue between research and industry by bringing together academic expertise and technological know-how to address the challenges of sustainability and the digital transformation of the railway infrastructure.

The partnership will foster the development of highly innovative projects, with a particular focus on low environmental impact of vehicles for railway infrastructure construction, maintenance and diagnostics, as well as advanced systems for infrastructure monitoring and data management. This collaboration further strengthens the longstanding relationship between Tesmec Group and the University of Bari, promoting the growth of specialised competencies and technology transfer for the benefit of the entire railway sector.

Today, Tesmec is a leading player in the railway industry, thanks to its strategic hub in Monopoli and Bitetto and the extensive expertise it has developed in the design, construction, maintenance and diagnostics of the railway infrastructure. Within this context, the collaboration with the University of Bari further reinforces an ecosystem of skills and innovation, enhancing the strategic role of the Apulia region as a centre of excellence for the development of advanced railway technologies aimed at the Italian market, also supporting the Group’s growing international opportunities.
